Where Indian Artistry Meets British Heritage

Krafthood London was founded by an artisan originally from India who has called the United Kingdom home for more than 25 years. That journey between two cultures shapes everything we make. Every ornament, cushion, and purse is designed to celebrate Indian craftsmanship while fitting naturally into a British home.

We work with skilled hands, not factory lines. Each finished piece carries the small, beautiful differences that only handmade work can have.

    What Is Zardozi Embroidery?

Zardozi is a traditional form of intricate embroidery that began in Persia and flourished across the Indian subcontinent, especially during the Mughal era. The word comes from two Persian words: zar, meaning gold, and dozi, meaning embroidery.

Artisans use a hooked needle called an aari to weave metallic thread into rich fabrics such as velvet, silk, and satin, building raised, sculptural patterns by hand. It is a labour intensive art, often passed down through generations, and still celebrated around the world for its elegance.
